Feeling lucky at the Melbourne Cup

The Melbourne Cup Carnival is one of those standout dates on the Melbourne events calendar. For some it’s a day to take a punt, others love to watch the magnificent horses, and of course some Melbournians are just grateful for the public holiday!

I don’t take for granted how lucky I’ve been over the last few years, having attended the Melbourne Cup day in the Birdcage under the Peter Rowland Marquee. The consideration that the Peter Rowland team put into their marquee, from the theming, décor, to the and tasty and visually pleasing drinks and food, makes this a standout Cup party.

This year I attended the event alongside my sisters Cerise and Candice, and we had a ridiculous amount of fun dancing, laughing, cheering the races on, and chowing down on the scrumptious food and drinks. The marquee theme was a celebration of Chinese aesthetics, and the Chinese touches were simply beautiful with a stunning floral wall, a blue porcelain style prints, and red ginger drinks and an oyster bar. It was a fantastic day, and as always I’m very grateful to have attended.
