A Country Break in Daylesford

How lucky we were to have a quality weekend away in the scenic country town of Daylesford, just before Victoria’s iso restrictions came back into place!

We stayed at the Station House, which is a very photogenic rustic homestead. Fit with french windows, stately fireplaces, art adorned walls, and beautiful antique furniture, every corner of the house is instagrammable.

Being winter time in the foothills of Victoria’s great dividing mountain range, it was absolutely freezing and faux fur coats and puffer jackets were a must. Despite the weather, it was great fun getting about the country town, visiting local art galleries and searching for treasure in the vintage stores.

As a pasta lover, a highlight of the stay was dinner at the local Italian eatery, Beppe Bar and Kitchen. They were so accommodating, the staff were very friendly, and the pasta, pizza and arancini were all perfection.

Daylesford is only a 90 minute drive from Melbourne. With a plethora of spas, hot springs, galleries, and vintage stores, it is a great spot for a post-iso country getaway.
